Alice Iyabo Ojo is an actress, director, and producer from Nigeria. She has produced over 14 of her own films, in addition to appearing in over 150 others.

 

Despite the fact that her father was from Abeokuta, Ogun State, she was born Alice Iyabo Ogunro on December 21, 1977, in Lagos.She became the youngest of three children, with older brothers.

Early Life And Education

Iyabo Ojo, who was raised in Lagos by an Ogun State-born father, attended National College in Gbagada in Lagos before deciding to study estate management at Lagos State Polytechnic.

 

Acting Career

She started her acting career in 1998 after participating in a play club at her secondary school. She recalled her early years by saying, “So when I had reached adulthood, I went to Bimbo Akintola after viewing one of her films… and told her I wanted to be an actress, and she helped me.

 

She assisted me in registering with the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), and after that, she showed me around and introduced me to a lot of the people she knew in the business.

 

Ojo has written the scripts for and appeared in many Nigerian films. Her debut appearance was in the English-language movie Demonic from 1998. She debuted in the Yoruba language in 2002 with Baba Darijinwon.

Her film, Silence, starring Joseph Benjamin, Alex Usifo, Fathia Balogun, and Doris Simeon, had its world premiere at the Silverbird Cinemas in Ikeja, Lagos, in January 2015.

 

Ojo began making her own movies in 2004 with the release of Bolutife, followed by Bofeboko, Ololufe, Esan, and Okunkun Biribiri.

 

Personal Life

In addition to her apparent occupation, she is a wife. In 1999, Iyabo got married. Her first child, Festus Oladunjoye Ojo, was born not long after that. Later, in 2001, Iyabo gave birth to a second child.It changes into Priscilla Ajoke Ojo, a woman. Iyabo Ojo quickly established herself as the world’s happiest mother, it became evident.

 

In addition to her quickly expanding career, she teaches her children. She is performing well for single mothers! Unfortunately, the well-known actress and her spouse separated a long time ago.

Iyabo Ojo and her kids are now quite content since the actress has found a method to survive through it.

Pinkies Foundation

In May 2011, Iyabo Ojo established Pinkies Foundation, an NGO that supports underprivileged children and children with special needs.

On May 1, 2016, she celebrated the inspiration’s fifth anniversary at the R&A Town Motel in Ikeja, Lagos.

 

She harshly criticized Yomi Fabiyi, a fellow performer, in April 2021 for supporting Olanrewaju Omikunle (Baba Ijesha), who was detained for assaulting a child. On May 12, 2021, she filed a lawsuit against Yomi Fabiyi for making “defamatory statements” about her.

Yomi Fabiyi had earlier organized a demonstration calling for Baba Ijesha’s release. The Theater Arts and Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) blacklisted her on June 28, 2021, as a result of her activities.

 

In a statement to Legit.ng, actor Jide Kosoko reportedly stated that Nollywood filmmakers affiliated with TAMPAN will stop collaborating with her.
